Commercial access control installation for offices, multi-tenant buildings and industrial sites by DACT

Access Control

Secure, Manage & Monitor Access

DACT is an SSAIB-accredited commercial access control contractor, designing and installing door entry and access management systems for businesses across the UK. From a single controlled door to networked, multi-site systems, we work with facilities managers, main contractors and building owners to control who enters, when and where.

We install on Paxton Net2, Salto, ACT and other major platforms, using key fobs, cards or PIN codes depending on your security level and user numbers. Systems are designed to BS EN 60839-11, the standard for electronic access control, with full audit logging and integration options for CCTV and intruder alarms.

Key Benefits

A professionally installed commercial access control system delivers significant advantages:

  • Enhanced security. Restrict unauthorised entry to your premises or sensitive areas such as server rooms and stock areas, reducing theft, vandalism and data breach risk.
  • Improved staff safety. Control access to hazardous zones and prevent entry by unauthorised individuals, creating a safer working environment.
  • Operational efficiency. No more lost keys, duplicated keys or locks to change when staff leave. Grant or revoke access instantly and remotely on networked systems.
  • Audit trails and control. Set access levels by person, group, area or time of day, and generate logs of who entered where and when, crucial for security investigations and HR.
  • Flexibility and scalability. Scale from a single door to multiple buildings; networked and cloud systems grow with your business.
  • Lower long-term costs. Reduce key management costs and the need for manned guarding at every entrance.
  • SLA-backed maintenance. Reactive callout and scheduled servicing matched to your site. See our SLA tier structure for typical response times.

Our Systems and Credentials

The right access control system depends on how many users and doors you have, how often credentials change, and whether you need to manage multiple sites from one place. We install across the main platforms and credential types:

  • Networked systems (Paxton Net2, Salto, ACT). Centrally managed multi-door systems where you add users, set permissions and pull audit logs from one place. The standard choice for most commercial sites.
  • Fob and card readers. The most common commercial credential, easy to issue and instantly deactivated when lost or when staff leave.
  • PIN and keypad entry. Code-based access for lower-traffic doors or as a backup credential alongside fobs and cards.
  • Standalone door controllers. Single-door systems for smaller sites or individual secure rooms that don’t need networking.
  • Audit logging and access scheduling. Set permissions by person, group, area or time of day, with full records of who entered where and when.

Access control works best alongside your other systems. We design installations that integrate with CCTV and intruder detection on a shared platform. See our commercial CCTV service, or view the full range on our commercial services hub.

Installation Process

We deliver a tailored installation service designed around your specific access control needs:

  • Needs assessment and site survey. We map your building layout, user types (staff, visitors, contractors) and the critical access points and sensitive areas to secure.
  • System design and selection. We recommend the right system type (standalone, networked or cloud) and hardware — readers, controllers, locks and credentials — for your site.
  • Professional installation. Our engineers install readers, electric locks, control panels and wiring neatly and reliably, with minimal disruption to your operations.
  • Configuration and commissioning. We set up user profiles, access permissions and schedules, and integrate with CCTV or intruder alarms where required.
  • Testing and handover. We test every component and permission, then train your administrators and users on running the system.
  • Ongoing support and maintenance. Maintenance plans keep the system reliable, including software updates and hardware checks under SLA-backed cover.
