CASE STUDIES

Wembley CDC - Envirotech

Project Overview:

DACT Fire & Security was commissioned by Envirotech Group to supply, install, test, and commission a comprehensive suite of integrated life safety and security systems for the new Wembley CDC facility.

Scope:

The project involved the installation of multiple critical systems, including:

  • Sophisticated Fire Alarm and Aspiration system.
  • Access Control system to manage site entry.
  • Nurse Calling system to facilitate communication between patients and staff.
  • CCTV network for surveillance.
  • Intruder Alarm system for enhanced security.

Execution:

DACT Fire & Security successfully delivered the project, ensuring all systems were installed and commissioned according to the agreed specifications and relevant industry standards. The installation provided Envirotech Group with an integrated and reliable safety and security infrastructure for the Wembley CDC.

Stonewall Vault

Challenge:

Stonewall Vault required a robust and integrated security solution to protect its premises, assets, and sensitive areas against unauthorised access, intrusion, and other security threats. The need was for a multi-layered system covering intrusion detection, visual surveillance, and access management.

Solution:

DACT Fire and Security designed and installed a comprehensive, integrated security system tailored to Stonewall Vault’s specific requirements. The solution included:

  • Wired Intruder Alarm System: A multi-zone system providing thorough coverage of all entry points, secure storage areas, and the central server room. The installation included motion detectors, door/window contacts, and strategically located panic buttons. The system is connected to a 24/7 professional Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC) for immediate response monitoring.
  • CCTV Surveillance System: High-resolution IP cameras, equipped with night vision capabilities, were installed to monitor the building perimeter, car park, and sensitive internal locations. Footage is recorded and securely stored on a centralised system, providing continuous visual oversight.
  • Access Control System: An access control system, featuring integrated Intercom capabilities, was implemented at the main entrances, server room, and high-security storage areas. This system allows for strict control over entry permissions and utilises centralised management software for straightforward user administration and detailed auditing of access logs.

Outcome:

The integrated security installation provided Stonewall Vault with a significantly enhanced security posture. The combined systems offer comprehensive intrusion detection, visual verification, and tightly controlled access to sensitive areas, all managed and monitored efficiently to ensure the ongoing protection of their facility and assets.

Sectors We Work With

DACT delivers fire and security systems across a range of UK commercial sectors. The right specification depends on the type of building, the compliance framework that applies, and how the site operates day-to-day. Here are the sectors we regularly work with.

Healthcare and care homes. Care homes, GP surgeries, nursing homes and private healthcare facilities. We design and install fire alarm systems, nurse call systems, monitored intruder alarms and access control with zone-based permissions for patient and staff areas, with full documentation for regulatory inspections.

Education and schools. Primary schools, academies, colleges and universities. Access control with safeguarding considerations, fire alarm systems, CCTV, and intercom systems for managed visitor entry. We work around term-time installation windows and provide out-of-hours support.

Industrial and warehousing. Trade units, manufacturing facilities, distribution centres and high-bay warehouses. Fire detection suitable for large open spaces, monitored intruder alarms, perimeter and yard CCTV, and access control for staff, contractor and visitor zones.

Retail. Independent retail, retail chains and shopping centres. Fire alarm systems, monitored intruder alarms, integrated CCTV and access control for back-of-house, with installation scheduled around trading hours.

Commercial property and managed offices. Multi-tenant office buildings, serviced workspaces and managed commercial estates. Networked access control with tenant-level permissions, multi-zone fire alarm systems, emergency voice communication where required, and CCTV configured to landlord and tenant access protocols.

Construction and main contractors. New-build and refurbishment projects working alongside main contractors and consultants. Design, installation, commissioning and full handover documentation, with on-site coordination throughout the build programme.

Our portfolio includes commercial premises of all sizes, from single-site small businesses to multi-site contracts requiring consolidated reporting.

Service Level Agreements

Commercial fire and security systems are only as good as the response behind them. Every DACT commercial maintenance contract is structured around a Service Level Agreement (SLA), with response times matched to the risk profile of the site and the criticality of the system.

Tier Emergency Response Typical Sites
Platinum 4 hours (within standard service area) Hospitals, care homes, data centres, critical infrastructure
Gold 8 hours Multi-site retail, larger commercial estates, education
Silver 24 hours Standard commercial premises, offices, industrial units
Bronze 48 hours Smaller premises, lower-risk sites, contracted reactive support

All tiers include scheduled Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) visits aligned with BS 5839 and other relevant standards, full service documentation for the Responsible Person and your insurer, and 24/7 emergency callout availability.

The right tier depends on the criticality of your premises and the consequences of system downtime. We’ll review your risk profile, insurance requirements and operational needs as part of the survey, and recommend the tier that matches without overselling.
